These are just a few of my suggestions having designed Baby's Day from my own experience. If you have any different ideas I would love to hear from you, you can email me at sarah@babysday.co.uk.
The Baby's Day notebook uses two A5 pages per day, and splits each day into fifteen minute periods. There are ten columns:
- In Bed
- Sleeping
- Crying
- Awake
- Eating
- Nappy Change
- Playing
- Out and About
- Bath
- Blank
Planning a routine If you prefer to aim for a set routine you could use a page to design your ideal timetable and watch your progress in following it. If you manage to hit the meal and sleep times you want you will feel a big sense of accomplishment. If you realise it is unworkable, Baby's Day will help you see what you have achieved, and reset your goals. Helping others to care for your little one You can give the notebook to other caregivers (when you finally manage to leave the house on your own for a few hours!) to help them look after your baby - I was often asked "Where is he?" by my husband or mum when I left Tom with them, meaning was he due a feed / sleep / playtime. By simply handing over the Baby's Day notebook they could see just what he needed, and once I returned could see what he had been doing. The Columns... The links on the left give some more suggestions on how each column could be used.
