I have included two sample pages in the notebook, which I filled out based on my notes from my own experience. Both of these pages are available to download on this page as .pdf files (you need Adobe Acrobat to open these).
The first sample is from Tom's second week of life. At the time I put his evening 'grizzlies' down to tummy pains, but filling in the sheet showed me that he was probably tired, having been awake over 3 hours.

The second sample shows Tom at just over 10 months old, and with an ear infection. The differences in the sleeping and eating patterns are certainly clear, and this illustrates how development can be tracked and solid food intake logged.

As you can see, I didn't spend hours carefully colouring each column with the highlighter, nor did I use my very best hand writing - this simply is not what you will do at 2am or whilst balancing a baby and bottle in one arm, leaning on the arm of the sofa to write. Baby's Day is a practical tool, save the calligraphy for some other baby record book!
